What is a proximity sensor?

The Proximity Sensor can see if it has any objects. It basically works by switching on or off if there is an object at a certain distance.

The proximity sensor transmits the electromagnetic beam (eg, infrared) or the electromagnetic field, and it can detect the object's position through the returning signal.

How does it work
The nominal range is the distance at which the sensor senses the position of the object. Ranges can be changed at some proximity sensors.

The widespread use of this smartphone is noteworthy. The use of various types of proximity sensors can also be seen in many sensitive devices, including card readers or biometric devices.

Use it on the phone
In the beginning, because the touchscreen or smart phones do not have this sensor, the receiver of the call would touch the screen with the ear and enter various options or cut the call several times. The proximity sensor turns off the screen when the ear is detected.
